Quote from The Merchant's Website:

"Our Tribord designers designed this lightweight UV-protection wetsuit for regular dinghy/catamaran sailing in warm weather

Wear this lightweight 1 mm neoprene wetsuit when dinghy/catamaran sailing in warm weather.UV protection, abrasion-resistant reinforcements on seat/knees and lightweight sleeves."

  • Warmth: 1 mm neoprene on torso and bottom half (seat, legs). Below knee length.
  • Durability: Wear-resistant anti-abrasive reinforcements on seat, back of thighs and knees.
  • Freedom of movement: Cut suitable for the trapeze position.Knee, hip, arm and shoulder patches.
  • Easy opening / closing: Zip at the back with a pull tab to make it easier to open and close.

The concept of thermal insulation using neoprene:

  • By trapping a thin layer of water around the body, a neoprene wetsuit works in two ways:
  • 1. the water trapped inside the wetsuit gradually warms up
  • 2. heat transfer from the body decreases.
  • The wetsuit and the thin covering of water form a layer of insulation.
  • Neoprene is a closed-cell elastomeric foam with trapped nitrogen bubbles that have insulating properties.

The dinghy/catamaran sun protection 1 mm neoprene wetsuit is designed for warm weather.

  • The Tribord sun protection 1 mm neoprene wetsuit is partly made of neoprene to guarantee good thermal comfort
  • The parts of the body most exposed and susceptible to wind and cold (torso and shoulders for wind, lower body for water) are protected by neoprene (thickness: 1 mm).
  • In cool and/or slightly windy weather, wear the Tribord S100 sailing anorak on top.

Freedom of movement of the sun protection 1 mm neoprene wetsuit:

  • The Tribord sun protection 1 mm neoprene wetsuit has a cut and materials designed to make the manoeuvres and different positions of light sailing much easier.
  • The arms and torso are made of a super-stretch Lycra material to make manoeuvres easier.
  • The legs and knees are also separate pieces to make sitting, crouching and changing sides in the boat much easier.
  • All the seams are stretch seams.

Neoprene reinforcements on the sun protection 1 mm neoprene wetsuit on the knees, thighs and buttocks:

  • The Tribord sun protection 1mm neoprene wetsuit has reinforcements on and below the knees, on the seat and thighs. The additional fabric works in two ways:
  • - to reduce the wear and tear of the neoprene in areas that are the most exposed to rubbing and chafing from the boat (deck fittings, rubbing strake, carpet, etc., depending on the supports)
  • - to reduce the inconvenience of rubbing and chafing on the knees, buttocks and thighs for the user, who is wearing the suit and is active on the boat.

Construction of the neck of the sun protection 1 mm neoprene wetsuit:

  • The neck finish and height have been developed to limit the sensation of discomfort from the neoprene and irritation on even the most sensitive skin.
  • However, not everyone's skin reacts in the same way: in this case, we recommend that you wear a top under the wetsuit to reduce sensitive rubbing and chafing.
