OUR COMMITMENT TO CONSUME LESS WATER WITH THIS PRODUCT
- We improved this product using an eco-design approach in the dyeing of the materials with the so-called "dope dyeing" process.
- Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce our environmental impact, we use a mass pigmentation process that involves adding the colour pigments when the yarn itself is produced.
Living room
- 11.7 sqm living room with an inner tent height of 2.10 m.
- This tent has several features:
- - A foldaway basin-shaped ground mat at the tent door in case of rain
- - Two large transparent shuttered windows
- - Two doors with mosquito screens
- - Storage pouches in the bedrooms and living area
- - Clothes lines above the windows
- You can pitch just two bedrooms to create an immense living area.
Sleeping width
Each bedroom in this tent is intended to accommodate a maximum of two 70 cm wide mattresses.
Pitching and dismantling
- There are five poles to insert into their corresponding sleeves. There are colour codes to help you.
- We recommend that 2 people pitch the tent.
Sun protection
- The flysheet fabric has UPF 30 sun protection.
- Caution: be careful, as a large amount of UV rays can get in through a simple open door.
Ventilation
The ventilated flysheet on the living area airs the room and reduces condensation inside your tent. High ventilation hatches are also provided at the front and back of the tent, along with high mosquito nets on the door and at the back of the bedroom.
Wind resistance
- We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable. The aim is to expose each side of our tent to the same wind intensity.
- Properly pitched, with the guy ropes deployed, this tent remains habitable in wind speed 6, measured at 50 km/h.
Waterproof and taped seams
We test our tents to validate their waterproofing. The first test is done in the laboratory, 3 hours under 200 litres of water per hour per sqm, equivalent to 200 mm tropical rain per hour. The second test is done in the field under real-life conditions by our teams. This tent is fitted with a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet measuring 2,000 mm. It also has seams that have been waterproofed with heat-sealed strips, and a 140 g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet.
Repair
As designers and users who love nature, we care about the durability of our products. That's why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and pole repairs are available at the workshop of your Decathlon store or on our website.
Poles and tent pegs
- Poles - All our poles are made from fibreglass and undergo double quality checks. This guarantees some of the best resistance against breakage.
- Tent pegs - All our pegs are made of steel and have a diameter of 6 mm.
Maintenance advice
Our camping tents have been designed for occasional outdoor use (4 weeks per year) when camping or in the great outdoors. Continued exposure to UV rays over several weeks can damage the fabric. These products are not classified as “garden furniture” and aren’t designed to be left outdoors permanently. To guarantee maximum durability of your tent, it's important to store it when not in use.
