The Giro Neo MIPS helmet is a best seller and the obvious choice for anyone wanting safety, comfort, and a personalised fit. In-mould construction uses a Polycarbonate outer shell fused to an EPS foam liner which keeps the weight to a minimum and works to absorb impacts in the event of an accident. MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is integrated into the liner and reduces the effects of rotational forces from angled falls or impacts. Thermostat Control venting allows airflow through the helmet to be adjusted by sliding a button on the top, while Stack Ventilation draws hot air away from the top of goggles helping to keep your vision clear. Giro’s highly comfortable In Form 2 fit system allows for fine-tuning at the twist of a dial, and On-The-Fly vertical tuning can be adjusted to accommodate different goggles and head shapes.

MIPS HELMET TECHNOLOGY EXPLAINED

MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) MIPS is not a construction as such but a safety feature integrated into the build. MIPS reduces rotational forces on the brain caused by angled impacts to the head. In a MIPS helmet the shell and the liner are separated by a low friction layer. When subjected to an angled impact, the low friction layer allows the helmet to slide relative to the head, absorbing much of the energy.
