1. Is the Jacket Waterproof or Water-Resistant?
Waterproof jackets have a waterproof coating on the outer of the jacket, with fully taped seams – meaning that water cannot enter the jacket, or soak in, therefore keeping you fully dry.
Water Resistant jackets have have a waterproof repellent coating on the outside of the jacket to prevent water being let into the jacket but will not be fully tape seamed, making it only resistant and not proof.
2. Is the Jacket Warm Enough?
Insulation is very important when it comes to how warm your chosen jacket will be. Down insulation is the warmest type of insulation, meaning jackets with down insulation are the better option if youre looking for warmth. However some jackets also use synthetic insulation or a combination of both.
3. Does the Jacket include all of the Features That You Require?
Finally, you’ll need to think about what features the jacket includes. For example – a hood, pockets and where they’re located, zips or buttons? etc. These will all be crucial things to think about when you decide on the perfect jacket.
