If you’re still pondering over whether to go camping this Winter, then you’re in the right place. Camping through all the seasons is great fun, Summer brings you the sunshine and barbecues, but Winter brings the cosy campfires and snow! These are our top eight best campsites – that are open all year round!
- The Quiet Site, North West England (Cumbria)
Exactly what it says in the name!
As well as having the stunning scenery of the Lake District, this site is great for all kinds of campers. There is general camping, camping pods, glamping cabins and you can even camp in a Hobbit Hole! There are many local walks, fells, lakes and cycle tracks so it’s great for the exploring type – with plenty of shops nearby just incase!
The Quiet Site also includes an on-site bar, named ‘The Pub’. This bar does not serve any food, but it does provide a place to get warm and dry, as well as indoor games for children.

2. Humble Bee Farm, North-East England (Yorkshire)
Child-Friendly and Fun!
Humble Bee Farm is a great site, especially if you have children. The owners of the land have made this site extremely child friendly, giving them the opportunity to spend time with farm animals, and learn about the local wildlife.
The Wolds Way National Trail is also very close to this site and so it is great for keen hikers who want to see the sights!
This site has Wigwams, Bell tents, and Yurts already set up so that there’s no need to bring a tent, but this is always an option! There are non-electric tent pitches, and hard standings for a motorhome.

3. Hobby Farm, South-West England (Dorset)
Adults-Only, more peace and quiet!
Hobby farm is a small and quiet meadow, with only 9 pitches and two huts for glampers. It is a very calm and relaxing site for adults only. It is surrounded by local footpaths which all lead to beautiful scenery – and there are three towns nearby to explore. It is also close to the coast if you’re looking to relax on the beach. This site also runs offers throughout the year.

4. Woodside Country Park, West Midlands (Herefordshire)
The natural pleasures of camping…
The Woodside Country Park is a 28 acre site which focuses on camping’s natural pleasures and that’s why we love it! It is peaceful, and it has brilliant views all around. This site is suitable for everyone! – Bring a tent, a caravan, campervan, motorhome and your pets! Woodside Park also includes wooden camping pods, and a bunkhouse where you can stay.
Despite being a Country Park, there are multiple towns a short driving distance away, where there are plenty of things to keep you entertained! If you are interested in history and old buildings, Easton Castle is a short drive from this site, where you can explore the area and this holds events such as an open-air theatre which is great for children.

5. Dogwood Cottage Camping, South-East England (East Sussex)
Secluded and outstanding natural beauty
The Dogwood Cottage Campsite is a very popular site with brilliant reviews from it’s past visitors. It has very spacious pitches, and includes sanitary facilities (two toilets, hot showers and a washing-up sink) to make things easier on your trip. Although Dogwood Cottage is a secluded and quiet site, it is a short drive from the towns of Hastings and Battle which are two great places to venture to.
There are only 15 pitches here, however it is suitable for tents, camper vans and motorhomes. It is also pet and children friendly, so you can take the whole family!

6. Strawfields, South West England (Devon)
Away from the city lights…
Strawfields is one of the best sites for those who want to get away from the city lights. This site is completely electricity free, and there is no lighting on the campsite – meaning it’s great for those who like to stargaze! This is a small and cosy site with just 8 pitches, but there’s plenty to keep you occupied.
This site is very child-friendly, there is a stream to explore, as well as ponies, pigs and goats etc. The facilities here are basic, but they are just what you need to keep you comfortable. They also hold pizza nights on site!

7. Torrent Walk Campsite, North Wales
A site with a mythical reputation!
This campsite may be a but further away than the others, but it is still one of the best! Cader Idris, where the site is based, has a mythical reputation. It is a very popular place in Wales for hikers and rock climbers and so is ideal for a great adventure. The fields in this site are highly spacious, hosting up to 60 campers, and there is a new washing block with power showers and toilets.

8. Cotswolds Camping at Holycombe
Historic and full of secrets…
This site is based in the historic country of Warwickshire, and is one of England’s camping secrets. This is a six-acre “Quiet site” which is built in the grounds of a castle surrounded by a moat! Holycombe has natural beauty, and is brilliant for sight-seeing. There is a local pub nearby, so that you can have a relaxing drink after a long day exploring!
